Maureen McGlinn Psy. D. LP
Trying to make sense of painful and difficult experiences is a challenging task for all of us. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship distress, or behaviors that interfere with living a full life, I provide a safe and welcoming atmosphere where you can identify personal goals, engage in meaningful therapy, and find resolution and healing. Respectful collaboration and sensitivity to your struggles are key components of therapeutic work. Taking that first step when calling a therapist can be difficult, for sure, but also draws on your courage and your innate potential for change. Change is possible!
While the psychotherapy journey may involve cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, or interpersonal approaches, I pay attention to your needs and desires and develop an approach to treatment that is uniquely yours. My personal philosophy is to encourage growth and adaptation despite the emotional, environmental, and social hurdles that life presents.
My research interests are focused on the human-animal bond and the human-nature relationship. I enjoy painting with watercolors, taking photographs of horses, and gardening. I value the integration of emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being and, as such, view creativity and play as supporting a rich, healthy, meaningful life.
