Ciera C. Bies, MA, LLP
Prior to being a therapist, I was a special education teacher. In this capacity, I encountered children and parents in need of empathy and understanding. I decided to pursue my master’s in psychology as a means of doing the emotional work I found myself pulled to do as a teacher. In 2014, I completed a clinical training program and gained experience working with families, adolescents in the foster care system, and survivors of human trafficking. Currently, I am working to obtain my doctorate degree. Recently, I have gained experience counseling college students and utilizing dialectical behavior therapy in a community mental health setting. My dissertation is focused on women’s issues related to sexism and trauma.
My practice is devoted to providing therapy for women of all ages. Women face many unique challenges and experiences throughout life. Increased demands affect our ability to live authentically, balance needs, and enjoy experiences. Stress impacts how we feel about and care for ourselves. My practice is dedicated to partnering with you, to help identify barriers, to gain insight, solutions, and to develop goals to decrease your symptoms. I am passionate about supporting women through their reproductive years, from the menstrual cycle to pregnancy, miscarriage, infertility, breastfeeding, the transition to parenthood, and menopause. These biological events can foster difficult experiences and lead to mental health concerns. I’m here to help.
My specialties include: Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, Perinatal Mood Disorders, Self-Esteem, Stress Management, and phase of life issues (school, college, career, love life, marriage, parenting, divorce, and loss).
