Margot Bloomfield MA LLP
I enjoy working with individuals of different ages, ethnicity, in need of individual, couples or family sessions.
I believe that life is a journey, which at times, can be very challenging. Sometimes we find ourselves at a crossroads, trying to decide our direction. Staying on familiar paths can be easier yet repetitive and stagnant. Growth means change and following new paths, though unfamiliar and with unseen risks. Therapy can help one believe in themselves and try new paths, with the therapist lighting the way.
My special areas of interest are exploring identity issues with adoptees and supporting those struggling with grief and loss. I also work with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, impulse control, anger management, and communication challenges. I have experience working with individuals struggling with addictions, and with children and adults experiencing life challenges related to developmental issues.
Theoretical approaches I utilize include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Writing/Narrative Therapy, Motivational Therapy, and Family Systems. I use an ecliptic approach based upon humanistic principals, using common denominators in terms of what brings us together as human beings.
