Sheila Mulhern, MA LSW
I work with adults and children of any age. I approach all of my work from a social justice framework I enjoy and have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in areas of identifying and healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, substance use/abuse and family history. I strive to create a welcoming nonjudgmental atmosphere of acceptance while utilizing the evidence-based practices of CBT, DBT and MCBT. Additionally, I have expertise working with LGBTQ+ identities, gender dysphoria and transition, including the use of WPATH standards and seeing transgender clients through their process of transformation.
Theoretically, I embody a systemic, harm reductionist, humanistic person-centered, narrative approach providing therapy for individuals and families. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are, learning about their journey while affirming one’s self to help understand and improve well-being.
I believe that you are the expert of your own life and your own destination.
